This workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 1, and will run from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time (4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific). This is an online workshop and will be held via Zoom.
If you’re a union member, unfortunately the chances are good that you’ve had, or will have, your heart broken at least once by one of your own leaders. Whether you tried to get involved and there was nowhere to go, or the members got sold out, or leaders want to keep the union as their exclusive club, it can feel pretty harsh. »
The Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act provides union members a bill of rights, requires unions to publicly disclose certain details about their governance, and regulates union elections and trusteeships of local unions by international unions.
Learn how to use the law to build rank-and-file power in your union, and how to defend that power once you’ve built it!
This workshop will be facilitated by Will Bloom, labor lawyer, Despres, Schwartz, and Geoghegan.
